After almost a month off, the battle for the title resumes. Can Max finish the race? How rusty have the drivers become over the holiday season? Let battle (re)commence !

I think Red Bull will be right up for this race but mad Max will need to watch he doesn't try the strong arm tactics and instead uses his head to find a way past. Spa seldom fails to impress so this should be a good one.

Well, qualifying was certainly interesting, thank goodness I didn't look at the results until after I watched the highlights.
Not sure if I am particularly slow at picking up on some things, but it was only during the highlights that I realised that George Russell probably picked 63 for his racing number as he's "stylised" it to "GR" and even "GB" for his nationality

Striking result for Mr Russell, Max did bloody well in Q3 in particular even though the track was dryer. Bloody sad end for Nr Norris, I reckon they should have waited a bit tbh.

Gutted for Lando. I think his first pole was nailed on before the crash.

Wonder who Horner will want to foot the bill for the repairs to Checo's car this time?
Great disappointment after a month off, for the weather to wreck what should have been an epic race. Ah well, only a week until the next race, let's hope that the Netherlands is somewhat drier next weekend

Thoroughly disappointed with the coverage of that. They rescheduled ch 4 highlights and then only ran from the restart. Aprat from the logical fact that SOMETHING caused the race to be stopped and talk about Cheko's car being repaired in three hours. Come on ch 4, CONTEXT.

I’m still trying to work out who hasn’t thought to move this race to the beginning of the summer given how common it is for shit weather. Then you’d still get loads of Low Country folk going before their summer off and they can come back to the one in Holland.

If we'd had a proper but shortened race with half points awarded for the top 10 finishers, would the fastest lap have still got 1 point or would that have been reduced to half a point (on the basis that whoever earned it finished in the top 10)?

Half points is half points, including that one.

I take it that Norris being P14 after qualifying 9th means he had a penalty for engine or gearbox change but I'm still not sure which.
