I saw a new car the other day which I assumed from the styling was a new BYD or somesuch other Chinese travesty. But no, it was the new Mokka.
This shares that look - I'm not sure that this new "General Lee" front end is a winner.

Holy cow, Vauxhall have finally given up trying to compete with the Golf and have decided to just copy it. Even the interior is the same.

It's distinctive and is quite a clever way of disguising the height of the nose of the car which I think is a product of crash regulation. I like it, it's a cleaner piece of styling than we've been used to. I imagine the estate will be successful assuming they don't apply the pram handle that features on so many Vauxhall's and James' Alvis.

Not offensive, best to see how it drives I reckon.

I don't mind that at all.

The back end is pure Golf. The front end is really nice, no gigantic symbolism. Nice fleet option.

Like a Golf/308/A Class/1 Series with a different face grafted on.
I wonder how much power the VXR is going to try and push through the front wheels this time?

Exterior wise, I like that. The front end shows that you don't have to stick a bloody great grille on something to make it interesting. And will work for EV's as it's already pretty much blanked off. I suspect (like nearly everythng else) it is colour and spec sensitive. In a bright colour with the black roof, it works. In white all over with diddy wheels, we'll have to wait and see.
The de-buttoned interior is less to my liking. But that's the way it' all going. So (like privacy glass) I expect I'll just have to get used to it.

I'm waiting to see what the price of the PHEV model is going to be. I'm tempted to look at it next year when I'm due a new car.
