Easter was a busy time for both clearing garage space and sorting out the fleet
The Audi is now running well following a set of Michelin PS4 and a 4 wheel alignment - just the exhaust to sort out
On Friday I made the essential journey to Doncaster to meet the friend who has been looking after the Lotus and bought that back home - cue lots of projects I have lined up when I have the time and funds
Funds will be a problem from now on as I treated myself to another S4 on Easter Saturday - trekking down to Laverstoke, nr Newbury to view a 928 and coming home with that, so that makes 2 S4s in the garage!
So I now have a combined total of 33 cylinders, 1460bhp and 1932NM torque (plus a sizeable insurance and tax bill - bring on road pricing!)
One day the 911 will come up from Mum's to complete the set - that is most definitely it on the car purchase front for a while!

I’m jealous. Your wife is clearly far more easygoing about that sort of thing than mine!

Outstanding! I've always had a soft spot for the 928.

My father has owned some tasty V8 Mercs in his time - a rare 1980 450SLC and 1988 420SEC among them - and when 928 used prices started to drop in the noughties I did my best to tempt him. No luck, alas.

And an amazing garage too. Thank you, it may even have proper electric supply next week! My tactic to chivvy up the builder is to stuff the garage full of cars, seems to be working😂😂

What a fantastic garage. Something that size could only ever be designed by a true car nut.

Excellent Bryan, any chance I'll see it this year? Porsche at Prescott, Silverstone Classic?

Bloody hell that is quite the collection - amazing!
We need a forum meet when such things are allowed - I absolutely love 928's - they were the Super GT to have when I was first driving, and I have always had a huge soft spot for them, it would be amazing to see what they are really like...

Love the garage, deeply envious. In terms of building structures I've achieved a greenhouse and a chicken coup - a garage seems unimaginable at this stage!
I really like the Lotus.

I cannot envisage any circumstances short of a substantial lottery win in which my wife would even entertain the notion of having six cars! Not least because she doesn't like "smelly" old cars, which tend in the main to be the only ones that don't depreciate. Because at the moment she's fixated on buying a property in Italy, the notion of spending significant money on anything else is given no shrift whatsoever. And then, it's been difficult to argue against the fact that, even allowing for three return trips to Suffolk to look after my mother, our two cars have covered possibly at best 1,000 miles between them over the past six months.

Maybe you need to do what Mrs Bryan has and be supportive of the Italian property purchase on the understanding that you can buy something interesting? It’s not like you’ve suddenly become interested in (interesting) cars.... I’m not an old car person either, but that makes buying something fun a bit more of a challenge without impacting the budget for the dailies. I mentioned ALF buying a Boxster, how it brought back great memories and had me looking on Autotrader and she reminded me that she told me we were mad letting it go at the time and what was I looking at? I had to remind her that I wanted to put a new kitchen in which may well turn into an extension as well, which unbelievably was all my idea, I don’t know what’s wrong with me.....but we have spent rather a lot of cash on cars in the last 3 years. I hope my eldest two will be driving and have their own cars the next 2-3 years, that’s when I can go for something less ‘big family’ friendly and use that to change the budget around a bit. A fast estate and something like a 911 would be ideal, but we’ll see.

Martin, you need to have a word with yourself. That's some kind of shocking role reversal!
Mrs Tim is actively encouraging me to look at 4 car garages. Sadly it would be made from wood though, unlike Bryan's edifice. I'm deeply suspicious of her motives.

To be fair, all we’ve spent on the house in the last 8 years is decoration and furniture, so it’s about time. It’s driven by having a little one again, which has changed the way we use the house. I want to keep the living room for adults and I like having a separate dining room, so the Kitchen / Diner would benefit from being a bit bigger by having a living area added to it. The first thought was to turn the dining area into a living room type space, which would work as we have the dining room, but it would be better if we had both.

It's entirely possible to buy a fairly decent Blarno-spec motor for the price of a MacBook!
Even more possible to buy a Boxer6-spec one!!

I believe it to be so, yes. I know Mrs M checked against the usual suspects and it was a bit cheaper - plus I'll get 2% cashback on the membership card
