Another one. Murray lived a long life but Sabine and Johnny didn’t event reach retirement age. Sad to see this.

I hope that after a "run of three" there will now be a long gap. RIP Johnny Dumfries, also sad to read of his passing at a far-too-young age

He never got the success he deserved but yes, RIP indeed. He won Le Mans, was a F1 Test Driver for Ferrari and drove a Lotus F1 car in the era of 1500BHP lunacy. He didn't do badly.

As a driver, he had the talent and drive to go further and never quite got the breaks despite working his socks off. He had a work ethic folk praise in Schumacher and Hamilton etc. Just a bit more luck and we could have really seen what level he was at, imho of course.

He was also a very nice man and a fairly successful in business too.
He'll be sadly missed by a lot of people.

I met him once at Knockhill. One of my friends (a good bit older than me) use to race against him and he came up for a chat. A great shame and perhaps a sign that the eye has been taken off the cancer ball a bit with all the emphasis on Covid.
