There has been talk on the beeb news where it is acknowledged that doctors and non medical staff are putting patients on to DNR status without patient or family knowledge, I wonder just how many of us are DNR without our making a mention of it.
This has been going on for decades and is among the things nhs staff feel able to do on a whim.
When I was training, casualties who were DNR would have teams working on them for several hours, basically the bodies were used as training aides, also without permission so what gives that is really new now?

I know a few who I'm convinced must have been DNR and still seem to be walking around...

Quite some time ago now I was talking to an appointments clerk about a change of date and out of the blue she just said "Can I put a DNR request on your file"? I treated it as just another appointment clerk talking nonsense but after the recent report do wonder, it's supposed to be decided by the patient and/or relatives but if this is going on carte blanche by just anyone (I include doctors in this) then perhaps someone does need to monitor these people quite closely. I doubt Boris had a DNR on his folder now did he?
