Predictable.
Is there going to be a new ICE 4 series Gran Turismo along because I reckon I know exactly what it'll look like!

With the environment it's not just about doing good, one must be seen to be doing good. I think it was Jeremy Clarkson who said the shape of the Toyota Prius was a large part of its brand - it had to look different (or ugly) to make sure people could easily see you were doing right by the planet. Thank god for front numberplates anyway..

How dull. It's quite a heavy looking car, isn't it? It looks like a less good version of what Lexus were making ten years ago.

An MSport GC may look better on bigger wheels and without the eco tinsel. What I do find a massive improvement vs the standard 4 and the 3 are those door handles. Just night and day better.

The shape of this and the 3/4 series is a lot less delicate the last one. There's a lot of visual bulk which will no doubt be matched by actual bulk. I can't decide if the eco-tinsel (TM Racing) is patronising or cynical.

It must have an enormous front trunk. Or it is a really unsuitable chassis to make into an EV. Why else do you need such a long bonnet on an EV?
"Eco tinsel". Love it.

I expect the long bonnet is due to 'brand values'.
It's just the plastic bit at the front that's really offensive Chris! I'm sure BMW could sort that if they really wanted but clearly its not worth their while.
As an aside does anyone know what BMWs sales figures are like for the last few years? I'm sure they have sold in good numbers but there are an incredible number of them on the road with a plate starting with a Y. My 320 was YC63... and was a pre-reg (or similar) at head office so I'm wondering what % of their new cars are actually sold genuinely out of the dealerships you collect them from. The 430 is DC17... and is an ex-management car.

They come through BMWs Immingham import centre and are registered there. If you see any BMWs on TV programmes they are generally on a “Y” plate as well.

It is the BMW UK distribution centre in Thorne. All their company cars and direct fleet etc go through there and are registered on Y* plates (Doncaster area).
It is some sort of approved used fix and polish centre too.

They used to somehow code all of the company cars as retail with the SMMT so they had a massive retail share in the area that was total bollocks.

Hahahahahahahahahahha.
£70k
That's how much a Racing-spec i4 M50 costs.
Yes, ok a Tesla S is that and more, but really that's just too much.

I'd have thought this was more Model 3 in size rather than an S. £70k is utterly nuts, though. Especially for something that offers so little.

Does anyone pay £70k though? From discussions I’ve seen on here BMW discount heavily. Is that true for an EV? And is anyone actually buying these (as opposed to leasing). If it is £500 per month with zero bik then it might do ok with business users

It’s the crazy world of EV pricing. I’ve just read that the Mustang Mach-E GT will just under £70k, the Q4 50 Voraprung is £66k and even more crazy, you can spend well over £100k on the an e-tron S SUV if you go for the Vorsprung model.

Agreed. But I suspect the tax will be an additional one that gets added on to drivers of combustion engines too. E.g just raise bik by 5% across the board.
