I've never been a fan of the looks but agreed they are decent value. I'd always take the LC500 if given the choice however or even an M5 which are far more desirable

They are decent value and most are really well equipped. The GC is the same and looks better imho, but at 850i money I’d be more interested in an M5. Had a meeting with a colleague in business development this morning and got to talking about cars, he’s got an RS6 on order which is due in November (ordered October 21). Maybe I shouldn’t be quite as concerned as I am about what I get next.

Used values do seem to be softening. A couple of local main dealers I pass regularly have big sale banners everywhere and quite a few of the cars in my Autotrader garage have come down in price over the last week. Porsche have an unregistered Macan GTS at list price and 3-4 month old facelifted/new interior/well specced S versions for just under list, they were asking a premium a month ago, especially for the GTS. Same with the Cayman GTS 4.0, list price for a 3 month old car is a lot better than it was.

A 911 GTS I have been watching for a friend is now £5K cheaper than it was 2/3 months ago but it was priced stupidly previously (probably only about £10K cheaper than it was new, 7 years and 25K miles ago)

Worth spending a bit more to get something like this? finder.porsche.com/gb/en-GB/details/porsche-911-carrera-4-gts-preowned-7VQGX7

I found him one about 18mths/2 years ago and he couldn't decide if he liked the colour. It was soon sold and then prices increased over time by £10K/£15K so I think he may have missed the boat!

That is a lot for a 7 year old 911, even more so when compared to a 3 (and a bit) year old 991.2 for another £15-20k (which still feels like a lot!)

It was £86K and is now £81K via 2 price drops but the one I found him before (in a special order light blue metallic colour) was £73K and less miles so they are still well overpriced IMHO.
Porsche warranty can only be extended to 10 years old so too many risks I think.

Better to drop the NA idea and spend another £13k on the one I linked to, which had 2 years warranty and the option to extend for another 4 years after that expires.

Prices are generally softening in the trade so prices should be falling.

The Porsche used car finder. You can save a search and set up alerts. Just had a quick look, the GTS has gone and so has the S I looked at, no surprise I suppose. I'm sure you do believe me..... but just in case, here is another S, which is just under 6 months old and is list price. The other S was cheaper / lower spec and available now, this one isn't until October. finder.porsche.com/gb/en-GB/details/porsche-macan-s-preowned-YV2X59Edit: They've dropped full fat (Matrix) LED headlights from the configurator for the Macan, hopefully they are still on your order. I think that would be a deal breaker for me, it's the one thing that annoys me about the Golf (they were standard from 2019MY) every time I drive it in the dark.

I know its a boring thing to say but 80K for a Macan S just looks mad expensive. I know I'm way out of reality but think that should be 20 grand cheaper at least.

I don't think I'm that far from reality, but even so, anything over £70k or maybe £75k for a really nice spec (I'd be at £87k for a GTS....) is a lot for a small SUV, no matter what the badge or the amount of Gussying up! It's the estimated monthly depreciation figure I look at, which being a Macan helps a bit. But even so, at £87k it would be over £1,000 a month (48 month/60k miles exc any lost interest on savings). On Porsche finance at 7.9% APR, it must be getting on for £1,400 a month... So yes, whichever way you look at it, mad expensive.

Porsche used prices are never dropping when dealers are this desperate for your car.

That’s not a new thing, they make so much margin on used cars they’re looking for stock pretty much all the time.
Prices are definitely dropping, not a huge amount admittedly, but small steps in the right direction. Porsche perhaps a bit less than some, but the 992 GTS I have in my (Autotrader only unfortunately….) garage was £155k and is now £152k. Down to just over £10k over list, so approaching bargain territory! There’s a lot of flipping going on and I suspect there will be dealers who will be lucky if they get out of cars with a reasonable profit, 97 x 992 GTS for sale right now!! I wonder that that is as a % delivered?

My friend has decided to put his search on ice until next year now because the prices are still too high. I agree on the 992 GTS's which seem to be flooding the market. I think a lot of people are feeling a bit more nervous about their Porsche being an appreciating asset.

Seems to have sold fast.
Perfect Racing spec is indeed dark green, but not at expense of all else. Had I known I would have kept the 440i this long, I might have been persuaded to fork out for the individual paint and leather, but then the benefit of hindsight is a wonderful thing.

It's been on sale for over a week, but without Photos until the last couple of days. Obviously did the trick, along with a vaguely sensible price.

Porsche are currently having supply chain issues and production is affected. So used prices will harden again.
