Not who you favour, but who do you think will ultimately win and via which of the remaining states (or indeed the courts)?

I’ve been telling everyone for weeks that Trump will (unfortunately) win. The Democrats just keep putting up poor candidates, Clinton and Biden, and are not offering anything to the electorate other than “ we’re not Trump”. That said, I’ve revised my prediction and now give Biden a 30% chance of being in the White House in Jan.

I could just about see Biden edging it with to win on paper with 270 by winning in Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin and Nevada, with the rest going Tango. I'm not very confident about Pennsylvania.
But then Trump would go nuclear on recount demands.

This has been a disaster for the Democrats, they should have wiped the floor with Trump and they haven't. They have to realise that their offer is a very poor one if they can't convincingly beat a candidate like Trump.

This has been a disaster for the Democrats, they should have wiped the floor with Trump and they haven't. They have to realise that their offer is a very poor one if they can't convincingly beat a candidate like Trump. Actually I think Trump is a difficult candidate to beat. First, he can call on a sizeable electoral base made up of (a) the large number of dyed-in-the-wool Republicans that would vote for a dead dog if it wore the red rosette (this applies equally to Democrats, but it speaks to a partisan disposition for which party affiliation, ahem, trumps the actual candidate) plus (b) the deplorables, who it seems are numerous and adore him because they see themselves in him. Second, the Republican party has operated a seriously slick campaign to (i) identify and register formerly non-voting Trump enthusiasts and (ii) seek where possible to disenfranchise those parts of the electorate which anti-Republican. Whether that's fair, ethical or right is not the point - what matters is that it is formidably effective. Third, Trump has no problem using any means possible, whether fake news or otherwise, to cajole, bully and/or frighten people into doing what he wants. Fourth, there is the question of just who exactly is behind stuff like this: www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-us-2020-54802115. Fifth, many Americans have a pretty pathological fear of "socialism", a most useful bogeyman to use against anyone not a Republican.

This current American election demonstrates that their version of democracy is utterly broken. One candidate is older than my 15+ years retired father was when he died and the other has no redeeming attributes whatsoever.
As a demonstration of the mentality (or should that be “mentalism”?) the voting for Trump by predominantly Latino neighbourhoods in FL is all you need. As said some of those voters voted for the Tangerine Twat because they believed socialism and even communism has no place in the USA. These idiots have family and/or friends that grew up in Cuba - do they seriously believe the USA of Carter, Clinton and Obama was even remotely related to socialism or communism?
The problem is (for all of us) is that a country with such a massively-insular populace has such huge influence on the wider world. Can’t the rest of the world just hang the US out to dry: sieze all their local assets, legislate all their produce out of viability and refuse all travellers? Then we won’t have to care about one bigoted liar going to the polls against a walking corpse.

I see that Biden is ahead, but will be genuinely astonished if we're not stuck with the orange windbag for another four years. It is 2020, after all.
The BBC showed some footage of shop staff in one of the marginal states earlier, boarding up their premises in expectation of violence.
Which struck me as really very sad.

I don't understand why it takes so long to count the votes in Pennsylvania. It's not like it is a non-developed or sparsely populated state in the middle of nowhere

I don't understand why it takes so long to count the votes in Pennsylvania. It's not like it is a non-developed or sparsely populated state in the middle of nowhere I understand that it's because (a) it's a big and populous state so there are a lot of voters and votes, and (b) state Republicans there refused repeatedly to permit legislation to be passed allowing postal votes to be counted in advance of polling day (as they can be in, for example, Florida). Can't imagine why they did that in a swing state given that apparently Democratic voters are keener on postal voting than Republican voters...

This current American election demonstrates that their version of democracy is utterly broken. One candidate is older than my 15+ years retired father was when he died and the other has no redeeming attributes whatsoever. One US commentator noted that the 2 candidates were both older than the most recent current presidents are - it must be close though as Clinton and Bush are both 74. Jimmy Carter is still alive at age 96 though. I don't see that the US politics is significantly different from a lot of ours - there are areas here that would vote Tory or Labour no matter who the candidate was. As others have said the Americans definition of Socialism is spectacularly different from ours and I also wonder why a Latino would vote for a candidate who is openly racist and determined to keep Latinos out of the country.

I didn't bother checking, I knew he was significantly younger.
It's quite startling to compare him with the 2 candidates this time round - you wonder where they went wrong that they ended up with a bunch of old folk (this time & last time round).

Well it's clear, Trump is absolutely going to win. After all with this sort of help how could he fail?
"'Angels released from Africa' to help Trump win US President Donald Trump's spiritual adviser Paula White-Cain says "angels have been released" from Africa and South America to help him win.
During a fervent prayer service, she says: "I hear a sound of victory. The Lord says it is done. For I hear, victory, victory, victory in the quarters of heaven."
The pastor adds that "angels have been despatched" from Africa and South America.
"They're coming here in the name of Jesus... angelic reinforcements," she says, in a highly animated performance that also saw her take aim at "demonic confederacies that are attempting to steal the election from Trump"."
Nutter!

I think it comes down to the time taken to get such support both political and financial.

I'm watching the votes come in live on CN. It's very exciting! edition.cnn.com/election/2020/results/presidentIf you hover over the individual states you can see the vote numbers. Apparently 80% of the votes currently adding in Pennsylvania are for Biden.

Gettin' awful tight down in Georgia...
Biden ahead by 900 votes with 99% counted. Recount territory I'd guess...
If Trump loses Georgia at this point, he can't do better than a dead-heat (on the original counts).

I'd be amazed if Trump can lose Georgia. If he does maybe he has a point about a fix, those good ol' boys love the GOP.

I'd be amazed if Trump can lose Georgia. If he does maybe he has a point about a fix, those good ol' boys love the GOP. Maybe but the trend across the whole country is that urban areas are voting for Biden and Georgia is exactly the same. For example most of the counties in and around Atlanta have voted 60-70% Biden (one county - Dekalb has 83% for Biden out of a vote totalling nearly 400k). In addition, as has been said many times, the postal votes are counted last and they tend to favour the Democrats whereas the Republicans favour voting in person - something Trump encouraged - and those votes get tallied first. So there's a simple (and endlessly proven) answer for these late-ish swings.
