Another grille with unnecessary chrome accents on it. Looks like it snowed lightly on the very front of the car and it hasn't all melted off yet

Being better looking than an X4/X6 is something most cars achieve!
It is dumpy, the grille and front bumper are awful and the black pack has moved to essential on Audis now they have horrible bits of silver trim all over the place.
BMW quite rightly get a lot of stick for the new grilles, but Audi deserve nearly as much, especially on the SUVs.

Somehow, hacking half the rear 3/4 off makes the front grille look even larger and more dominant (and silly).

I've stopped asking why these kind of things exist.

I've stopped asking why these kind of things exist. Same reason hatchbacks and estates both exist.

I've stopped asking why these kind of things exist. Same reason hatchbacks and estates both exist. Yes, but the difference is that few have cracked the art of a Soupe which actually looks better than the SUV it's based on. Which is just odd. I was looking at a current-shape X4 earlier that happened to be in front of me, and thought that actually half its problems stem from having rear lights that have absolutely zilch to do with the rest of the back of the car, plus the number-plate down in the bumper rather than between the lights. With different rear end detailing it could look far more cohesive than it does.

Hatchbacks and estates don't exist for looks, they're preferred styles. For some the visual bulk of an X3 will be more off putting than an X4. SUVs don't have to be big boxes, there are no prescribed rules, so if the market wants variety in its high riding vehicles it'll get it.

I have to say that I think the Cayenne coupe looks much better than the standard one and the same goes for the Audi e-Tron

When we bought our first Stilo we chose the estate because we both thought it looked better than the 3 or 5 door. The latter always reminded me of the Maxi.

When do they start making saloon versions of these? And cabriolets?
