The Racing Point/Merc brake duct "scandal" rolls ever-onwards. Will Perez be passed fit to drive, and how will he fare if he takes part? More very hot weather is predicted, so will this interfere with Mercedes plans to resume their domination?

News just out, Perez tested negative so he's back this weekend.

That's a pity, Hulk was doing a great job.

Dearie me. Having watched an any-from-ten-bikes-could-win Moto3 race where 6th place was awarded 3rd after so many exceeded track limits in a pack of 8 through the final corner, a Moto2 race with what may have been the most terrifying crash of the decade had it not been for the MotoGP race where only the Gods of Racing know how no one was injured following a 200mph 2 bike crash that saw one riderless bike cross Rossi’s path at right angles whilst the other somersaulted over his head missing him by a few cms I looked in on the F1 twice for about a minute each time. 4th place was lapped FFS. Utter toilet. I didn’t watch last week and I shall not next week either.

It was rather boring again. Even Lewis got so bored he didn't realise he'd finished. Was thinking of something else to write but I cant think of anything else worth contributing to this conversation.

But not an incorrect one.

Grosjean v Raikkonen down the pit straight. More erratic moving from the former, just as the pursuing driver pulls out. Not sure how he can be the GDPA head, and keep driving like this. These sudden moves when another car pulls alongside doesn't even belong in Formula Ford. Wurz was a great leader of the GDPA, someone who practised what he preached.
Albon. Red Bull evidently made an error pitting onto the hard tyre, and then putting him into traffic. A combination of the hard tyre on such a difficult track to overtake on was never going to work. Albon thought Sainz was dangerous. Nope. Albon tried another one of his low-percentage outside overtakes again, and it always obvious what Sainz was going to do, give young Albon a nice invitation into the gravel.

There were a couple of great drives there. Raikkonen produced a stunning lap in Q1 to drag the Alfa into Q2, another to split the Renaults, then drove a quietly brilliant race. Sainz and Gasly (again) got the absolute maximum out of their machinery and so, dare I say it, did Lance Stroll. Solid in qualy, great start, strong race.
Not much in the way of spectacle, however.

Vettel did a pretty good job with his stint on the soft tyre. A much better result than might have been the case.

I hope that Ferrari get to the bottom of Leclerc's issue very rapidly. If it had occurred in the middle of a fast corner with another car immediately following him, there could have been a serious disaster, possibly fatal

Saw precisely zero of the GP. Again.

Snap - although I did get to enjoy some of the British Touring Car highlights for the first time in ages over the weekend which reminded me how much more entertaining tin top racing can be. The Moto GP crash/incident is nuts though

Video unavailable which is not a surprise as just about everything is hyper controlled these days.
About that brake duct thing, how can it be penalised but OK to continue using the bleeping things? No wonder other teams are less than happy.
