Just need a surfboard strapped to the roof and you're good to go. I like that a lot, I've always wondered what a week away in one of those would be like.

Lush. I love these but I don't like camping much so I'm kinda odd. Nice kitchen.

Very nice. I had a look round a couple of them at CarFest last year, they weren't cheap! They were well finished inside though.
At least you avoided the two tone one, I've seen a few white over red ones and it's not a great look.

Nice. It looks bigger than a studio flat I rented in 1992!

Very nice. Is this a Merc replacement? No, it’s the first of a new business. It is at the moment until the merc is back on the road though.

At least you avoided the two tone one, I've seen a few white over red ones and it's not a great look. It’s a 67 plate and was under £40k, which stung a bit, but better than the £65+ that VW want for a proper California. The place we got it from had a number of two-tone ones, both in White over shades of light blue which looked rather nice, but I think we’re going to stick with white and coloured tops/accents (although I want to go with movie/tv colours).

Whilst I like a campervan as a concept - they look far, far cooler than caravans - and this is a very cool example you have there, I just know that I don't enjoy being removed from my little luxuries (like hot showers and a flushable toilet).

I'd love to take you up on that but I think an extremely active Cocker Spaniel leaping about in an enclosed space like that might just be a step too far.

Nice! I bet these are selling like hot cakes this year... I take it that is built as a camper rather than converted? I know a few people that had conversions done and they were always proper money!

Van wanker! Looks great and I hope you enjoy it. I can't help thinking, though, that the idea of holidays in one of these is far better than the reality. It would be far too cramped for my liking, although combined with a good sized tent I can see how it might work. Not my cup of tea but they do seem very popular.

A like it. There is a place near us which has started to sell them, but might be an idea for retirement after the children have flown the nest.

Yep must be vital to link it up to a huge glamming tent and then use the bus to power everything and give access to the all important cold beers. If I was going down the route of camper van I still think I’d go full out on a proper 6berth Fiat Ducato Based monster and pair it up with a couple of scooters to get around on.

I have to be honest, more than a weekend with just the wife doesn't appeal, but if people want to hire it for a week or more, that's their business. We do have one of these to go with it:-

I get the appeal for some people and it's a definite step up from a tent, but it's not for me, not for more than one night anyway. I've no desire to go on holiday in a van, there's no space and you don't have your own toilet....the only motorhome that I could get on board with is one that's big enough to fit a small car in! Otherwise you're so much better off with a decent caravan as you're travelling in a comfortable car, don't have to pack up every time you want to go anywhere and can potter around in the car when you've found somewhere to stay. Plus you have your own shower and toilet and the money you save can be invested in a nicer car that you will benefit from 365 days a year. I still don't want a caravan though, despite many great holidays as a kid in one.
I do wish you luck with the new business venture, I hope it's really successful.

Go on... when the little one is a bit older? A V8 RR would pull an enormous caravan.

It would and sacrificing a years holiday budget would buy a nice one, but even though I understand the benefits, it's not for me. I did really enjoy it when I was a kid, but I'm sure I would have enjoyed the holidays we have as well.

I don't have anything against campers in general, apart from the need in most European countries to park the thing in a campsite. Park up and sleep under the stars in the wilds of nowhere = big tick. Park up in campsite = yet to see the appeal.

Following Le Tour has always been something I’d fancy and this would be perfect for getting pissed in all day as your sat on the mont ventoux waiting for the cyclists to turn up

Following Le Tour has always been something I’d fancy and this would be perfect for getting pissed in all day as your sat on the mont ventoux waiting for the cyclists to turn up No..... the best way to do it is stay in a nice hotel, get driven to the stage, escorted through the closed roads so you don’t have to walk to the hospitality bus and get pissed on free beer, wine and champagne while you wait at the finish line watching the race on a TV. Then when the 5mins of excitement it over, get taken back to the nice hotel for a meal and some more wine! I wasn’t into cycling, but I enjoyed the couple of days I had last year hosting a customer who used to be fairly competitive but is now just a huge fan. He made it really interesting.
