Whereas you'd think he might have started from the opposite end and tried to make a smaller car with clever technology and then bang them out like vacuum cleaners.... A Model 3 competitor would in my view have had far more chance of success.

People still aren't read to pay a big price for a small car, the bigger the car the easier it is to hide the cost of the running gear. For the electric models, I don't think there is much in it for the eUp and eGolf.

I didn't think he ever had a problem charging a lot of money for stuff, his vacuums and washing machines aren't cheap!
One of his biggest problems may be that he's a fairly old man and lacking the Silicon Valley tech startup gloss that the likes of Tesla have had.
