At first glance I thought the blue car was a Range Rover, but it isn't, is it?

At first glance I thought Cortina estate and a bit of googling makes me think it's a Mk2 version.
I think the black car to the left of the blue one is a saloon version and I want to say the red car poking out behind is an Austin 1100/1300.

504 estate is the blue car.

I think the green car below the blue car is a Triumph Dolomite.

504 estate is the blue car. That was mu first thought, but closer inspection confirms it as a Cortina Mk II. There is a burgundy Cortina saloon on the left hand side and a black Mini van down by the water. There is a dark blue Triumph 2000 Mk I, nose up, pointing towards the Cortina estate.

The mid-blue car on its side at the water's edge could be an Escort MkI estate.

On its side, bottom LHS, a grey Austin Cambridge / Morris Oxford Farina saloon.

What I want to know is where is that and why the f*** did they think that was appropriate place to dump cars? An environmental nightmare and a logistical one to recover all that metal.
At first glance I too thought the blue car was a Peugeot 504 estate but the small vent on the C pillar suggests it is a MK2 Cortina.

Its probably a photoshopped collage, judging by the "Where's Wally?" poster/flag

The link to the Wired article the picture is from is on my initial post. The site is Gaewern Slate Quarry in Ceredigion, Wales.

The link to the Wired article the picture is from is on my initial post. The site is Gaewern Slate Quarry in Ceredigion, Wales. I read the article yesterday and didn't understand why the photographer needed to go to some lengths to get access, including a long crawl through a smallish tunnel, when clearly somewhere else there's a hole big enough to shove a family car through?

I'd guess you don't want to be climbing down the chasm where people like to chuck cars and also it's probably quite dangerous climbing down that lot when it is likely to experience whatever they call an avalanche with cars and scrap metal.

One for the Assembly to answer. Well they're all safer than the English from Coronavirus but they'll all die of water supply poisoning eventually.....
