No mothballing here as such, the Aygo has gone on SORN as it needs a bit of work doing to it and it isn't fully paid off until October. Jo is now using her Mum's Fiesta (Her Mum passed away in December and we have been waiting for the will to be finalised before using the car). I was going to use the Aygo as a daily for going to work, but seeing as I bought an automatic to make the commute less of an arse-ache, going back to a tiny manual seems daft. The plan is to sort the little issues (Service, blowing exhaust) and then sell it once the finance is paid off.

I've just taxed the BMW for 12 months (£475), bit early I guess as it's due at the end of April but I don't want to forget.

Well I gave the XFR a good clean up, the battery a charge and then put the cover back on as I doubt it will be going anywhere for the foreseeable. Still got the winters on through - I'll get round to putting the summer wheels on once they've been given a good clean and polish.

Not tempted to go the long way around to the supermarket once a fortnight? A friend I know might possibly occasionally like to go for a bit of a drive out from time to time. The route takes him past a few supermarkets on the edge of nearby towns, so the journey can be proven to look perfectly legitimate, the few bags of shopping in the boot serving as evidence.

I was going to suggest taking it to the supermarket, but going to one a bit further away not just driving around with bags in the boot! Too used to using the MINI as your daily? I'm using both on a rotation basis, but only need to go out once/week at most, so only 2-3 miles which isn't great. Having the kids for a week helped, it put 200 miles onto both cars.

Basically, yes, we're too used to using the MINI as the daily driver. It is out the front ready to go.
I don't think it would happen here, but re the bags of shopping in the boot, in Italy the police were stopping people with bags in the boot and asking to see the receipt. If it was very old or from a far away supermarket a fine was slapped on the driver.

I had not even thought about the prospect of leaving them on all summer and not really needing the car until next winter, that's a grim thought.... And unlikely to happen, I think...
