For a change, not an "active" loan car whilst the Kuga was being serviced and MoT'd... Sure it's more refined than my 2016 Fiesta but it's bigger, not really a supermini any more but also not big enough (certainly as far as boot space goes) to be a family car. Loads of options on the computer screen in the instrument pack, and the Sync3 infotainment system has been enhanced over the one in "my" Kuga. This had the premium B&O sound system, and TBH if I'd paid extra for it, I'd be asking for my money back... far too much treble even when turned down, and boomy bass. The engine felt strangled compared to my Fiesta too, whether or not this is down to emissions regulations I don't know but it certainly didn't feel as eager to rev, or increase revs so freely. Didn't seem to accelerate as rapidly but that may be because of increased sound deadening making it quieter. No left-foot footrest; 6 speed box but 6th is so high as to only be usable above 50mph. Gearchange indicator kept wanting me to change down but by gentle application of the throttle I was OK (and it wan't this that caused me to say performance felt strangled). As per the Active versions that I've been loaned on previous occasions, fuel economy was worse than I get from my 5-speed ecoboost 100. Being white, it showed the dirt readily too but I didn't go near home in it, so no time to give it a wash !

And I thought the EcoBoost was suppised to be a really willing motor.

Well, it did have under 700 miles on the clock when I picked it up, but even so it felt notably less inclined to rev than my own ecoboost, or the previous Fiesta Active ecoboosts I have been loaned so maybe it wasn't in the best of health?
