As I have said elsewhere that is extremely nice. Love the colour and I think you’ll enjoy the car.
If Tim makes good in his threat to get one, the 440i will be in danger of becoming the forum’s new 156 GTA. How many of us had one of those at one point or other? 3 or was it 4?

The wheels are my favourite BMW ones. Needs a black grille though!
i really fancy an Alfa every time I see one on the road but I’m not sure how their reliability has improved (if it has)?

Very tidy. Another who's intrigued about the Alfa experience, so do tell...

I’m interested about the Alfa experience as well, as there really shouldn’t be any issues in only 2 years of ownership these days. The 750 is the least reliable car I’ve had in a long time and the only issue (so far!) has been a small oil leak in one of the pipes to the turbo, when it was about 28 months old and had done 35,000 miles.
Anyway, back to the BMW....the spec looks very good, lovely colour. Did you spec it or was it in stock / already ordered?

When I bought my car there you called it Scandals! Haha! I did, but this car didn’t come from S(c)andal BMW - the car (& pictures) are from a Sytner dealership. I will put together a little end of term report on the Alfa Romeo when I get some time - it’s nothing shocking, just poor overall. And, many, many thanks for all of your positive comments on the new arrival - much appreciated. I’ll get a full spec put up in due course too.

Wow, that looks amazing. San Marino Blue is just gorgeous, adaptive led's as well. Whatever the full undisguised next-gen 4-Series looks like, I doubt it will look as good as this.
Is this a particulate filter version?

If Tim makes good in his threat to get one, the 440i will be in danger of becoming the forum’s new 156 GTA. How many of us had one of those at one point or other? 3 or was it 4? That's on hold for a while, sadly. Mark, the car looks absolutely fantastic, I don't think I've seen another in that colour at all.

Thanks again everybody - I have now done a separate thread for the Alfa Giulia Veloce which will hopefully answer your questions.
I'll get the spec up of the BMW asap.
Cheers

It’s no Giulia but very nice all the same Based on the end of term report in the other thread, one can only hope that it is not a Giulia. The 440i is a lovely colour.

So, the additional specification of the 440i is as follows:
BMW Individual San Marino paint BMW individual Opal White Merino Leather (Extended but not full) Piano Black Individual BMW Icon Adaptive LED lights
M Sport Plus Pack to include: 19” 704 M Double Spoke Bi-Colour Orbit Grey alloy wheels M Sport Brakes Sun Protection Glass High Beam Assistant Harman Kardon loudspeaker system
Reverse Camera
Innovation Pack which includes: RTTI EBT with wireless charging Speed limit display Driving Assistant Wifi hotspot preparation Professional Navigation Heads Up Display Black Panel Display Online Entertainment Remote Services Concierge Service
Extended Storage Exterior Mirrors - folding with anti-dazzle
Martin - I have bought the car as used with 9k miles so I haven’t chosen anything personally
(I do have the actual original purchase invoice for the car which seems to have been mistakenly left with the rest of the paperwork and the total purchase price is an eye watering £54,139)
Sav - this car doesn’t have the OPF which means it can take the MPPSK.
Bob - I am thinking about the black grilles....
I think that’s it.

Really good spec Mark.
I hope someone didn’t pay £54k for it! Did they leave it for you to find prior to purchase? One of the first things they showed me when I looked at the 750i was the purchase / spec document, not that I was daft enough to think anyone would have ever paid £110k for it.

One of the first things they showed me when I looked at the 750i was the purchase / spec document, not that I was daft enough to think anyone would have ever paid £110k for it. Thanks Martin. It’s odd as the dealer seems to have breached all GDPR rules by leaving the original purchase invoice and first service invoice with the previous owners personal details such as address, telephone numbers & his email address. I’m very happy that they are there however as I was kind of worried about just having the service history electronically on the car (that just doesn’t feel quite right to me or my OCD!) - I like to have a file with bits of paper! I’m ever so slightly embarrassed to admit that I took advantage of all of this and emailed the original owner to ask if he’d had any trouble with the car. I got a nice reply from him saying that the car had been totally faultless but that he and his wife were of an age where getting in and out of a 4 Series coupe was becoming more of a challenge. I’m pretty sure that he didn’t pay anywhere near £54k for it!

That's a lot of well chosen options you've got there even if some of them seem like they ought to be standard (not that the germans ever give you anything for free). Its a great colour and interior combo, just don't sit in it with new Jean's! Hope you enjoy it.

I spent a bit of time on Friday applying Dr Leather Dye-Block which I’ve heard good things about (I‘ve used their cleaner for years and it’s excellent). Hopefully that will protect from at least some of the dye transfer.

Ah, excellent news about your 440i being pre-OPF. As you say it gives you the option of MPPSK, and it sounds better as standard as well. Imo, OPF B58-engined cars are less impacted than others in terms of noise quality, but its just best not to have one at all!

That's a good spec. The interesting aspect (for me) is that your 440i doesn't have the adaptive suspension whereas mine does (apparently it's not a commonly-chosen option). As such, I shall be curious to see what you think of the standard ride. Mine is pretty good in the Comfort setting whereas the Sport setting, whilst having its time and place, would be too much if you had to put up with it all the time.

Lovely car Mark and a great colour: very close to Marina Bay Blue. I use the Dr Leather dye block on mine too (Smoked white merino) and it works very well. If you gently clean it every 5 or 6 months with the Dr Leather wipes and then put the dye block on it should work really well.
I really enjoyed my 4 series coupe and I am sure you will too, especially with the 3 litre straight 6 and before they consign us all to bikes and public transport.
