I bought it I think it’s got more FG than the Gorilla! Drove it home down the M1, M25 and A3 and it’s capable on the motorway but I wouldn’t tour Europe in it. More driving experiences to follow.

Excellent. Once you have started a Mini adventure, it is difficult to step off it. Enjoy!

Excellent, great little car and a very nice spec iirc,
Hopefully it will stay looking that good for a while....
We’ve started looking at a first car for my eldest and I’ve spotted a very nice 13 reg ONE, decent spec (Sport Chili pack) and not too far over budget. I’m a bit more keen than he is, as he’s used to his mum having a series of MINIs, but at least he doesn’t want a coarser.

The MINI does look nice, specced to match the garage in which the first photo was taken ??

It's almost the same age as the 'turD.... did nearly 27,000 miles in its first three years then about 20k pa afterwards..... the last owner must have liked it a lot !
I wonder why the 3 month "lapse" in MoTs from July 2018 to Oct 2019 ?

I wonder why the 3 month "lapse" in MoTs from July 2018 to Oct 2019 ? It was originally bought at Sytner so I assume that’s why the original owner specced it to the moon if they were a Sytner customer. It may have even been a demonstrator. I assume the MoT lapse is due to it being in the sales network and it ran out with no buyer so they didn’t MoT it until they had one.

What FG does it have? Looks like the standard candles from here.

Looks great. Has it got the Union Jack rear lights? They need them IMO.

Congrats. What FG does it have? Looks like the standard candles from here. The ones that stood out as out of the ordinary are HUD Media XL including the juke box and big Nav Self parking Radar cruise Heated seats There's other stuff like "MINI excite", Chilli Pack and half leather seats. W2.1 is currently scared to drive it in case she damages it. The E46 has 2 weeks insurance grace.

Why? We had Italian flags on our 500. You need to spend more time with Slovaks The ones in the UK for over 5 years will never go back because they hate the racism, rudeness and intolerance. They're only a softened version of it so they still won't wear another flag.

Why? We had Italian flags on our 500. Whereas my wife didn't want them on her 500. And commented the other day, as we sat behind a very smart BRG Cooper S equipped with the Union Jack rear lights, that she'd like a MINI as her next car but not if it meant having to have those stupid lights. Apparently once upon a time she'd have thought them fun and cool. Not any more.

Brexit of course. I think it is difficult for most British people to understand how alienated by Brexit people living here but originally from other European countries feel.

I can assure you I fully understand. That's the way I felt at the time of the Scottish referendum. I almost didn't want to be here anymore......and I was born here. I would imagine your wife feeling even more alienated.

Ours has the standard LED's and they are pretty good. Probably better on dip than the 2011 vintage xenons on the XFR. Changing the subject somewhat, but re your Slovak comment, if W2.1 hates the racism, rudeness and intolerance of Slovakia, has she ever considered becoming a UK citizen? The whole Brexit thing made me think about that the other day. If you live in another country to the one of your birth for a long time, are you either happy to be a foreign national for ever (subject to the political vagaries that might result in) or do you become a citizen of your "adopted" country.

My wife received her British citizenship in 2017. I am in the process of applying for Italian citizenship as I liked being a European citizen and having freedom of movement. As they say "Bugger Brexit".

W2.1's never going to not be a Slovak and they don't allow dual citizenship unless you cheat. The girls have two birth certificates because in the Slovak way we managed it and therefore can have both passports. I think having only been a nation state again since 1989 kind of makes them a bit precious.
On the MINI: yes: loving it for all the silly little run around trips to stage school, parties and this weekend to the tube station for a trip to see Stick Man. Standard lights, as Racing suggested above, but loads of other kit that a MINI has no right to have. Still, drove the Gorilla for a day out with the boys and it's still leagues ahead.....
Edited to add: just looked it up. I have to wait four more years for dual citizenship as I'm married to a Slovak.

Foreign spouses of Italian nationals become eligible after a certain number of years of marriage, which number varies depending on whether you live in Italy or not, and whether you have children or not. And both Britain and Italy permit dual nationality.
