Without wishing to seem po-faced, and fully acknowledging that I don't agree with blocking roads like that, when we sanction violence against those with whom we disagree (or even find it funny) I'm not sure we're showing ourselves at our best. Not sure how I'd deal with someone doing that to me though. Do they prefer it if you turn around and take a longer route?

They seem to be right meaning people led astray by who knows who. Definitely some monied interest with an agenda behind them.

I don't particularly agree with protests that disrupt everyday folk going about their normal business. The single protester was asked to move, by someone in a vehicle who was perfectly entitled to be there. Someone else chose to Take Back Control I have to admit I found that funny, although clearly two wrongs don't make a right. I may have some sympathy for the cause, but don't have a lot of sympathy for the protester.

I was half expecting the car to just push them out of the way, so when that traffic cone hit them in the head I thought it was hilarious. Just desserts for a deluded twat. Hopefully it knocked an ounce or two of sense into their thick skull.

Oh and kudos to the thrower for having such a great arm!

Found it on YouTube and now that account has been closed, too. Suspicious?

I suspect that the thrower is being prosecuted.

I saw that last week. I've got little sympathy for someone who makes a nuisance and prat of themselves. I wouldn't condone a half brick but a cone has a nice symmetry to it.

Isn't the XR person conscious of the extra pollution they're causing by blocking traffic? All those idling cars aren't spewing out rainbows.

Come on, how is that not amusing. It's a question of proportionality - she's being incredibly irritating, self-righteous and a great many other things, but basically she's misguided rather than evil - surely no-one sane would argue that what we need are more extinctions? Standing in the road won't help, but that's why I use the word misguided.
Chucking an object that must weigh 3-5 kgs at her head is not proportionate and could seriously injure her. I do understand the 'you were asking for it by being a prat' line of thinking, I really do, but the problem with things like this on YouPube and the internet in general is that we view it as entertainment and the people in it as somehow less than real.
So no, I don't think it's funny, personally. I think it's sad that society has become so confrontational.

Come on, how is that not amusing. She's clearly very annoying but those cones are weighted and that could have caused a serious injury on impact and when she hit the ground. It's important to maintain the moral high-ground in these cases so she should have been tasered and taxed on the carbon used to generate the electricity.

It would have been nice if the cone had landed neatly on her head, like and oversized witch's hat. But you can't have everything.
