Very nice. Couldn't tell if it also had wood panelling inside for full Racing-spec.

Very nice. Couldn't tell if it also had wood panelling inside for full Racing-spec. Would you like an open fire as well? Couple of stags' heads mounted above the passenger grab handles? Hunting tapestries slung artfully across the rear view mirror? It's an M5 not a country house library.

Hunting tapestries slung artfully across the rear view mirror? It's an M5 not a country house library. I just like a bit of wood trim inside a car - so long as it actually looks like it could be wood - it adds warmth and variety of material. Likewise I prefer a non-black interior. I can do black if it's combined with wood, but black with silver bits I just do not like.
The rooms of my house are not painted black with black leather seating and furniture exclusively made from black plastic and aluminium with carbonfibre accents, and neither do I much want that look inside a car! I don't find it in any more intrinsically schportier.
Thinking back, since selling my Mk2 Golf 16v (which dated back to an era before trim inserts were a thing in hatchbacks) when I qualified in 2003 all my cars have had wood trim barring the Alfa:
2001 Audi A3 1.8T Quattro - navy blue cloth with vavona wood trim 2003 Audi S3 - black leather with piano wood trim 1991 BMW Z1 - black leather with wood steering wheel 1993 Saab 9000 CSE - dark brown leather with walnut trim 2005 Alfa 156 GTA - black/tan leather with silver trim 1992 Mercedes 500E - black leather with walnut trim 2009 BMW 135i coupe - brown leather with anthracite wood trim 2008 BMW 330d - black leather with walnut trim 2007 BMW M5 - black leather with Madeira walnut trim 2012 BMW M135i - red leather with anthracite fineline wood trim 2016 BMW 440i - brown leather with anthracite fineline wood trim

^ I'm just pulling your leg. I like wood in cars but not "brown" wood anymore. I had the black anthracite in my last BMW and I liked that, particularly with the oyster leather. A friend had an RS6 with the birdseye maple, that was lovely. Some of the light woods work in the i3. Having said which, after saying I wasn't keen on the metal trim that BMW offers I now have the checkered aluminium in mine and I do like it. That green MS which has the brown leather looks great but I think adding wood into the mix would be taking it too far.

That's a very difficult colour to like in photos. In addition why are BMW offering black exhaust tips while you can still clearly see what looks like half a galvanised rubbish bin hanging down from behind the bumper?

They do like a dangly back box don't they. The new 1 is a serious offender, too. The other thing I don't like about that advert is that half the pictures are of the dealership and not the car. Who wants to look at pictures of a building in a car ad?!

I don’t like brown wood either, very dark is OK. I chose Anthracite Bamboo (High Gloss) in the 520d which was lovely and went well with the Cream Beige / Black interior. I wanted something different in the 535d, so went all black leather and then Aluminium trim with panoramic sunroof to brighten it up. No choice on the 7, but the Individual Piano Black Wood is superb, at least it was when I’d removed the swirls from the lacquer.
I’d struggle without a sunroof as well, the Golf doesn’t have one and I often wish it had, but i have an irrational hatred of sunroofs that open outside the car, apparently there’s a good chance it would rattle and it took it over £40k which was a point of principle.
I like the Green M5 a lot.

In addition why are BMW offering black exhaust tips while you can still clearly see what looks like half a galvanised rubbish bin hanging down from behind the bumper? The black exhausts are the sports exhaust. Silver tips are non sports exhausts. The lower exhaust is due to the incorporation of the new particulate filters for petrol cars. The filter sits above the rear silencer box which causes the height problem of the rear exhaust box unless the manufacturers get involved in expensive retooling for existing models (which they have decided not to do)

It's a bit "German Army Green" that, but I like interior. My dad had a Cortina 2000E in that colour and my mum was horrified as green was/is considered unlucky. When he subsequently hit a cement mixer in it he later confided in me that he'd rather have admitted to an affair then hear the "told you it was unlucky" mantra that went on for months subsequently.

Well of course I rolled my green Z1, which is actually one of only two green cars I've owned out of 20.

Every other manufacturer manages to hide theirs, so why not BMW?

Whilst I like a dechromed car, there is no way that should extend to the exhaust tips.

Saw this today and thought "Hubba"!! Much want... www.dicklovett.co.uk/bmw/used-cars/2019-bmw-m4-coupe-competition-package-30-2-doorNo sunroof and no wood but the colour combination is glorious - Oxford Green is gorgeous and I actually prefer that dark Cohiba brown to the lighter browns. Expensive at £60k but it's unregistered and would have set you back the thick end of £80k list what with the Individual paint, Ultimate pack etc.

Nice colour and full marks for somebody specifying silver wheels too. I like the seats, but the brown lower dash spoils the effect.

That is a very special car. It even has the Ultimate pack which basically gives you everything on the extra equipment list incl a heated steering wheel.
I think you could get even more off that car and maybe 0% or 2.9% apr. Recent e-mails received have M4 Comps in the low £50's either brand new or pre regd.

Did they ever do a GC in M guise? Missed opportunity if not.

That's an attractive car although I'm not overly keen on the colour of the leather, perhaps its better in person.

I looked at an M6 that had leather which was either identical or very close to that and it was much nicer than I thought it would be. I am also impressed by the dealers striping of the mats.

I hadn't spotted that but it is impressive. I'm going to check other cars in their stock to see if they do it as a matter of course!

Much nicer than dogshit brown. Would prefer a black dash, like PG, though.
