I did edit my post (not sure why it didn’t update) to say it’s very similar to what you can access in the car, but has a bit more information and is easier to navigate. There's an argument that good design should be intuitive, minimizing the need for manuals. No one requires a manual for smartphones anymore. There's also the point that anyone with a Y chromosome should not be looking at a manual anyway. True, the car manual is the one exception for me as it would be really annoying to miss out on something useful

Cheers. It is sad, and I've constantly been in a state of flux about it ever since I did it, but it's the right decision I'm sure. Would have been nice to make it to 10 years of ownership, but it'd be worth about £2.75 plus a half-bottle of Irn-Bru by then! Yes a sad day. Whilst it will be worth £2.75 at 10 years old, if you keep it till it is 25 it'll be £27,500 again..... and you'll walk about thinking "why did I sell that car...."...

I’ve just been sent a link to a YouTube clip of a woman arguing with workers at in A cafe before proceeding to shit on the floor, pick it up and throw it at them!
Feel free to watch out of curiosity but please don’t be compelled to do so.

Not sure this shouldn't be in the "Rant" thread, but this morning I got behind a cockwomble in a Zafira (that's the first warning really!) who absolutely would not move over out of the overtaking lane.
After less than half a mile it became very apparent why not; he was puffing away on one of the vape machines that obviously doubles up as a dry-ice machine - the clouds of, well, vapour I guess, were so prolific and dense it's no wonder he couldn't see me behind him!!!

My car does over 500 miles to a tank, but the range never shows over 450 miles for some reason. It just sits at 450 for a couple of days and then starts to decrease...

How the times have changed. Mk 1 Fabia vRS was the monster cheaper diesel hot hatch of the period. 130 horses, torque to pull a wall down. The latest update to the Mk 3 has removed all diesel engines from the range. Top engine - a 1.0 triple putting out 109 hp.

It seems to be quite variable too; went up to 505 for a few miles this morning on the way to work, then started falling again. After 40+ miles today, it's currently reading 480!

That happens a lot, as it takes an average of the last x number of miles. If Lindsay has used car on short journeys. I can have more range 50-60 miles down the road than when I started.

Yes, I noticed that (in a different way - no range meter on the Legacy) with the Subaru, and also via the arrival times on the satnav. I filled the Octavia for the second time on Tuesday; not worked out the actual mpg yet though. Slack of me I know!

I get 600 miles+ out of the Benz, but that has more to do with the vast 80 litre tank than any particular frugality. Never queue in a filling station behind a six cylinder E- Class. You will still be waiting when all the other pumps have moved on to the next car.

I’ve done 460 miles and it’s showing 145 left, which is with some low mpg journeys, 600+ miles would be possible on a long steady run. Even leaving 40-50 miles range it costs a fraction under £100 to fill though.

Hmm . . don't remember ever noticing that, but I suppose I must have, as it's there! I always had the info "book" open on that screen, as it was more pertinent to daily use for me. Plus, the dials/sliders just depressed me if I watched them! Saying that, the buttons along the bottom of yours unit are slightly different to mine, the icon on the right-hand end of mine simply said 'Audio'.
I notice you had the 6-CD autochanger; didn't have that in mine, which was a real PITA a lot of the time.

That’s interesting. I didn’t realise they changed the specs halfway through the model. I thought all facelift BL/BPs were the same!

Just filled up, can’t be long before I get my V-Power gold card! Wasn’t services prices either, normal Shell garage. 550 miles with 40 miles range left, which I’m really happy about. Not quite so happy with it only being 4 days since I last out nearly £100 in.

My range readout is pretty damn accurate. After a fillup, it'll display somewhere between 550 and 650, depending on how I've been driving prior. It's damn accurate as well - I pretty much always get 520-550 between fillups with about 50-70 miles remaining. I've never let it get below 20 remaining - knowing how much of a bastard it was to start after splitting the fuel system off to do the headgasket, I don't plan on runnig out any time soon.

After a round trip from the Midlands to Glasgow with the v70 D5 i had, at an indicated 52mpg for the 550+ miles, the range, when filled up, showed 980 miles. Couldn't quite get it to 1000! It soon dropped once back into more normal driving but it could be a frugal big bus, that V70.

A couple of weeks ago the wife ordered a fake leather jacket from TopShop in their sale, it was reduced from £50 to £20, she shoved it under my nose at the weekend and said "sniff that", it smelt of leather.
It appears she was charged and billed for the fake jacket but they actually sent her a real leather jacket which retails for £170, result for her.

Nick (Dr. Hfuhruhurr) dropped in to say hello while he is visiting the area. Embarrassingly, I didn’t recognise him, although he has an impressive beard and long hair, so I think I could be forgiven!

I have been busy today. I collected a friend’s horse the other day and it nearly went through the ramp. Oops! On close inspection, the plywood was rotten. I thought it was just surface, but it had lost all structural integrity. Not surprising really, when the material used was Sterlingboard - mostly used for shuttering and building site hoardings. I’ve replaced it today with phenolic plywood (buffalo board) which is the proper stuff to use. To say I am pleased with the result would be an understatement. It was glorious working outside too.
