I passed my old Ford Ka this afternoon on the way into town after work. Hard to believe that it's 10 1/2 years since I collected it from the dealer; where does time go? This prompted me to look up some of my old cars. The 1999 Jaguar 4.0 Sovereign had its last MOT in May 2019, at 108,359 miles. It had had several years of advisories and fails on (yes, you've guessed it) corrosion to inner sills and floor pan. The guaranteed killer for those cars. The MG ZT-T had its last MOT in January 2017, at 165,037 miles. But... The Skoda Superb estate is still, apparently, going strong. Its most recent MOT was in September 2024, at a grand total of 242,045 miles. Whoever the first driver was must surely have run it in properly and really looked after it...
