OWR, an American Town Car would probably get jammed in my local high-street ! An old school friends dad had a Town Car, a right heap of shit it was, I remember seeing it at the local tip with the front suspension all collapsed, he should gave just left it there!!

I hired a Town Car several years ago and despite it being brand new, it felt very dated and it was not a great car by any measure. Despite having a 4.2l V8, performance was leisurely as it only had 240hp iirc.
But it was spacious, comfortable and ideal for cruising around in on holiday for a couple of weeks.

The Town Car's popularity rested on the fact that it was a body on frame construction, meaning that for fleet users minor collision damage could be cheaply and easily repaired - so police forces (Crown Victoria variant) and taxi firms liked it, while limo firms could easily stretch the body without compromising the strength of the chassis.
