I reckon the time to get one will be after the new 3 has been out for a few month. You have to balance that with the fact that nearly new high spec cars will come through the dealer network in the run up to a new launch but afterwards the only cars available will be those traded in and a few stragglers the dealers couldn't shift beforehand (normally the odd spec/odd colour ones)

That's ok. A 3 year old 340/440 with a decent spec and sensible miles will do me fine.
The last of the line ones coming through aren't actually highly specced beyond standard. They'll all have heated seats and the M Sport Plus kit (identified by blue brake calipers I think) but there doesn't appear to have been an across-the-board option ticking exercise.

Small wheels, manual gearbox and basic Nav (which is much better than it used to be) will be effecting the price. Good value though.
I really don’t like the blue plastic trim strip.

The blue strip does look crap but there are other cars for a similar price that are 2 years older. They probably have a load of options fitted though.
Not sure about the wheels, presumably the smaller diameter tyres have a slightly bigger sidewalls which might help on the roads.
