A bit late as this has been overtaken by the new one, but I'd never been in an XC90. Until today. I front seat passengered in a colleagues XC90 - a D5 top of the range about 3 years old - and whilst it was not the fastest thing on the road and the engine really let you know when you pushed it hard, driven suitably in "cruising mode" it showed of its best. As capacious family transport it does the job and that is what they use it for. And the front seats were incredibly comfy. Like the ones I remember from the original top end 850 / V70's.

Even the very last of those now look incredibly dated, though. Especially the interior, which is 2 generations old now and really shows.

My brother has one - I think it's a 2007. It's been a faithful family workhorse in that time with minimal maintenance - Volvo dealers can be very expensive though. Lovely, squidgy, comfy leather front seats make it good long distance cruiser.
