Missed out a comma methinks! SQ3? Edited for clarity (hopefully). Audi never made a SQ3, but they did make a... RSQ3. But there are a few for sale. Damn - one letter out! It certainly is rare, as I've never heard of it, never mind seen one! Privacy glass is fine by me (no surprises there!) and the rest sounds pretty good to me. Hope it's all you want it to be Simon!

I saw the edit. Goodness, I can't even remember what I edited. Oh, I know, was it where I took out the bit that said "what?? An SUV??? Ban him!!!"

Great choice . Bet that engine is a monster 5-cylinders, similar capacity to my mum's V70 but about twice the power ! Should be fun, and I dare say a bit more expensive to insure than an A3

I’ve had a quick read through the reviews and the only issue really seems to be value for money when new. It was £45k for the standard car which was a lot more than the RS3 but with a lower power to weight ratio than an S3. The performance model took that up to S3 levels, but was £50k, which was rediculous for a Q3, especially at the end of its life. I bet it would get better reviews as a used car at a more sensible price.
I hope you enjoy it!

Ooh! Nice - can completely see the appeal.
Warbling five-pot always worth having.

Interesting choice, well done. I like the ethos of something like this rather a lot.

Takes us back to the 70's It's pretty stupid that all modern technology - in the name of convenience - has done for car theft seems to be to take us right back where we were. Which is as much physical deterrence as possible to car theft. Having had the same Mk II Cortina stolen twice (or was it three times, I can never remember) in the 1970's, and having never lost a car since, I've no wish to go back to those days.

I wouldn’t worry about it too much. It’s more of an risk on cars where it’s standard on all models, just take some basic precautions for peace of mind. Getting broken into for the keys is much more of a concern these days.
Keyless was an option on the Golf, the benefits outweigh the slight risk imo.

I have keyless entry and auto opening boot by waving my foot under the rear bumper. Although it seemed like the gadget no-one wanted, I now find it seriously valuable when I have my hands full.
I know the risk exists but I am hoping it is a small one because the benefits are great.

Like you, I thought that part would be a gimmick, but I use it fairly often.

They didn't extend the powered boot closing to the 4 series coupe, only the Grand Coupe!

I didn't bother with keyless entry or the foot-waving boot thing when optioning mine. I can't think of an occasion where I have actively regretted either decision.
That you can remotely open and close the powered boot by pressing a button is however useful.
The BMW gadget I think is brilliant which I cannot think why more car manufacturers don't emulate is the separately opening rear glass in the tailgate of their estates - it's an excellent feature.
My brother-in-law used to have an X-Type estate which had one and he always said it was a godsend for a dog owner because it allowed him to access the boot with a reduced risk that his rather excitable Labrador would immediately leap out.

Had it on my original Stilo and all the 3 series estates since then. Can't think I've used it more than a couple of times. It wasn't much good on the Stilo anyway because due to the extra height of the estate and the low boot floor you'd need to be over 6 feet to be able to reach into the boot and retrieve, say, a carrier bag without having to lean against the car. That's not helpful to a shortarse whose car is perpetually dirty!

The opening glass on the D3 was frequently used and brilliant. Particularly useful if you have dogs but also for throwing stuff in rather than taking it out. I think they're quite complicated to do with wipers and so on. I vey much missed that feature on the Volvo.
