Watched Le Mans 66, not as good as Ford v Ferrari or Rush, but we really enjoyed it.

Sort of in the book theme, the old neighbour upstairs bought a new kindle on amazon and got, two of them. She got nowhere with it. Asked ton help I tried but the ui is hardly helpful, it being very hard to get it to accept manual input of email etc. Does anyone else have difficulty with these things or is it a one off?
I will try the other one tomorrow and see about sending the useless one back, unless they are both naff.

Last one was a couple of years ago but it all seemed pretty straightforward if I recall correctly.Just link it to your amazon account.

I don't think my fingers are that big but getting the dot for dot com etc is a faff and changing from letters to numerals was an exercise in blood pressure elevation. She was sent two so I will try the second and see where I get from there. Hopefully get whatever works kept and the other sent back. Not a great problem in the scheme of things but a nuisance tbh. Thanks for the feedback on the thing.

They've also change their mind on the recycling/upgrade process. They would completely disable the old piece of equipment when you traded it in, but now you can continue to use it seperately on the old app if you wish and still get the 30% off the We're getting some drop out in the kitchen which is the furthest point from the bridge and a quick google suggests the bridge can start to do that after a few years (must have had ours 6-7 years), so I've ordered a boost this morning. I know you can connect directly to the wifi, but the furthest point of the kitchen/diner is right at the limit of our wifi so I don't think it will be 100% reliable. I've also pre-ordered a Five to replace my Play:5 Gen 1, got 30% off and based on the improvement from gen1-gen2, it should be a good step up. We'll have the Play:5 as a standalone unit on the old app somewhere, think I'll replace a One in the dining room with it and move that to the bedroom and create a stereo pair as we've already got a One in there.

How can you trade something in and still continue to use it? You're now really just upgrading with manufacturers support, but you can send it back to them to be recycled if you wish.

Handy to know but it appears ours works fine in all the living areas and the bedrooms are furthest away from the WiFi

We watched the 1st series of The Missing on iPlayer. It was pretty good. I see there's a 2nd series plus a spin-off too.

It was pretty funny but I got to the bit where the dad nearly died and the boys bought the ranch next door while he was in hospital and then didn't get the money to pay for it. I decided that I'd had enough.

Watched the final Star Wars trilogy the other day. Waddaloadashite. I've been watching Star Wars to see what the fuss is about and have just finished Return of the Jedi. Should I just stop there? Didn't think much episode 1-3 although Solo and Rogue 1 weren't to bad.

We now have a stereo pair of Play:1’s in the bedroom. I’ve always been impressed with the 1, very close of the Play:3 so much better value. Not surprised they discontinued the 3. As a stereo pair they are even better, really rather good and more than powerful enough. They would be fine in most living rooms (our bedroom is 8m x 6m)

SFX are amazing, it's the actual storytelling that is abysmal. One of the Avengers is an ordinary bloke with a bow and arrow, yet he seems to be indestructible. I just can't suspend my disbelief that far up! The time travel nonsense in the final film was headspinningly bad.

I'm not really a fan but went to watch the last 2 with some mates and thought the final one - End Game - was shit but the one before it was actually ok, quite funny in places and stood on its own as a film. One of the people I went with tried to explain the back story to me but it made no sense at all, I think you have to go back 100 films to get to the start.

There was a bit a few films back when a speedy foreign bloke, who was the brother of the wavy hand magic woman (she also magicked her accent from foreign to American in the space of a single fim), was able to smash a robot to bits with his hand using sheer speediness, but when he did the same to bow and arrow boy he only managed to knock him over a bit.
Typical good guys can't be killed bollocks.

Dan's 80lb testicle is on TV right now, if anyone's interested. First scene, Dan pissing in the shower because he can't find his winky and pee in a toilet.

The Avengers/Marvel films got worse as the SJW monkeys took over at Disney. The Deadpool films and The Punisher series are the antidote to usual Marvel efforts. All the usual suspend your belief malarky with a generous portion of darkness/snarkasm.

Arc Light by Eric L Harry. A very dark look at what could happen in a nuclear exchange between Russia and China that pulls the US in via a mistaken strike on the US by Russia. Very dark stuff.

I've tried watching Afterlife, I really have, despite my total disdain for Ricky Gervais. Almost every line is a repeat of something he has said in one of his stand up routines, or in an interview.

Finally got to see Le mans 66, gripping stuff and a fine job made of it. The political side between Ford and Ferrari is not long but the ambition and political control between Ford and the race team comes across well. The robbing of a win was particularly well done.
