Walking Dead was great at the beginning and made it to about season 4 I think where they were in the prison but it was so repetitive, how they've dragged it out to season 9 who knows. +1. It was always slow but evenbefore Rick left it had slowed to a repetitive crawl and I stopped watching shortly after. The other day I went back and watched the series finale of the latest series. Literally nothing had happened. I won’t be going back again.

It's the curse of the box set series - milk it for all you can. The Handmaid's Tale was supposed to have been brilliant, but when I read that the intention was for 10-11 series (I refuse to say season) I thought 'sod that'.

There was/is a newish Trek program called Discovery. It started of at 8pm on e4 but has been moved to between midnight and 1AM which is one of the signs that they wish they had not acquired the program and want it to quietly die, something most get up to apparently.
I would watch it but not at the hours it was recently moved to.

Netflix has a lot to offer that will certainly keep you busy. If you've not tried Breaking Bad I'd highly recommend you do. I also quite liked Orange is the new Black (plenty of soft lesbian porn included whilst being award winning drama if that helps). The Crown is really good too. F1 Drive to Survive is also worth watching but s2 is definitely better than s1 as you had all the teams involved and it relates to the 2019 season so it's much more relevant.
Other boxers on Netflix include all of Peaky Blinders and s1-3 of Fargo which is obscenely good. Uf you like some comedy my recommendation is Brooklyn 99, Friday Night Dinner, Rick & Morty as well as some of their stand up specials (Greg Davies Magnificent Beast was good).
Plenty to keep you going in lockdown.

Alex, have you tried Final Space - you might like it if Rick & Morty is your thing.

Anyone heard shooting stars by Rival Sons ? Cannot get it out of my head . Just been released as a single with an alternative version added. The acoustic version with the gospel choir on you tube is great. I have been heavily listening to Gigatron,it's one of those that does nothing on first few listens but then really grows on you.

I've not bothered with it yet. I read it had a few slow ones on it and they've not made a decent slowie since Better Man. Dsaughrter-mine hasn't ponied up with the album yet!
As for Better Man, for me it's really over-rated! I really don't like it; much, much prefer Release.

Binged every episode of Upload last night. A series set in the near future where your consciousness can be uploaded to an artificial heaven - for a price.
Really well written and an intriguing premise, but unfortunately there is obviously another season planned so it ends without a conclusion to the story.

Now watching the Ranch on Netflix. The first episode or two aren't that great but the writing improves a lot after those. Apparently Netflix killed off a major character about ⅔ of the way through the series because the (Scientologist) actor was accused of sexual assaults. An interesting story in itself, but I plan to stop watching at the end of season 5. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danny_Masterson

Currently halfway through and really enjoying Tales From The Loop on Amazon. Its based on the art of Simon Stålenhag. There's a lot of Swedish cars in it! Has a cool retro futuristic look and the music is just lovely.

Just finished Gangs of London on Sky Atlantic. Very much enjoyed, violence was a little over the top and thats coming from someone who rarely flinches at this stuff, a bit of a far out story line but had enough twists to keep it interesting. Recommended and nice thats its from the UK rather then another US series.

I've tried my hand at digital painting and it's harder than you'd think.

I don't know whether any of you have watched Levison Wood's exploration/travel series, but there's a new one starting on Sunday (IIRC) - Walking With Elephants. Coincidentally, we've just re-watched Walking the Nile and have just started re-watching Walking the Himalayas. They are always interesting and he seems like a genuinely nice guy.

The Mandalorian. What a disappointing pile of meh that was. Lots of exciting "Ooh, there's a Jawa/X-wing/Stormtrooper" etc type bits in it, but the series overall was just... meh.

Darkest Hour last night. Great performance from Oldman (and one or two others), but too much music (curse of many films) and felt a little shallow, stylistically-speaking.

Agreed, Oldman was mesmerising but I was surprised at how rushed and superficial it felt. Enjoyable enough, but a wasted opportunity.
