Have you watched the 4 grand Ebay Roller video? I'm really surprised classic RRs have sunk to such low prices and have yet to be caught in the updraft of classic car prices. Maybe there are simply too many about as wedding cars.

I don't think the Rolls is a complete dog but, yes, it will need some renovation. Almost tempting as a very term ownership proposition, maybe. I'm with you on the Jag though. Oh yes.

Not seen the video, but I can imagine what horrors it reveals. There are many old Royces from the '70s and '80s which have sadly deteriorated into a sorry state of disrepair simply because they are so eye wateringly expensive to maintain. My old Silver Shadow was a relatively good one, but on about 3,000 miles per year it still needed about £2,000 of work each year to get it through the annual service and MOT. For this reason many get passed cheaply from one owner to another, all looking for a cheap bit of flash motoring, but who also look to bail out when the money pit becomes too deep and wide. Decent, well maintained cars owned by RREC members tend to change hands a lot less frequently and are often snapped up before they come to any public market. This place is a good source of decent cars, with many selling while still in the 'Arriving Soon' section. www.realcar.co.uk/

Perhaps Harry's is rather more doggy than I thought! It will be interesting to see what he does with it and at what cost.

Some of the cars at realcars.co.uk looked surprisingly affordable. Some of them.

Some of the cars at realcars.co.uk looked surprisingly affordable. Some of them. The prices are all over the place to the uninitiated. The '63 Bentley S3 Continental looks fabulous but unfortunately isn't one of those in the affordable category.

I did think that you need to be in the know to understand those prices.

I did think that you need to be in the know to understand those prices. Absolutely! The wrong type of body on vintage example can wipe out all desirability to anyone other than those looking for a wedding car, while anything with 'Sports Saloon ' or 'Continental' in its description will command a substantial premium and still sell.

His XJ Coupe has come back from 4.5k worth of fettling. And sounds utterly superb!

The suspension mods make great sense, however I'm not sure about the exhaust. It sounds great in itself but I don't think it suits the character of the car. Were it my car I would prefer it to be a little quieter.

This is clearly awesome, but the price really isn’t justifiable. I bet they still sell all of them.
