I was just browsing (as you do) and came across this in the spec of a used E400 Coupe:
Electrically folding exterior mirrors
EU6 emissions standard Folding rear-seat backrests
Galvanised steering-wheel gearshift paddles Illuminated door sill panels with "Mercedes-Benz" lettering
I can't quite understand the need for galvanising the gearshift paddles and the thought of two rather rough galvanised paddles does nothing to increase its attractiveness.

Did they mean anodised?

Quite possibly but would you believe anything else they told you?

No, but I tend to write adverts off for much less. Block capitals for example.

I wouldn't be surprised if they're galvanised plastic.

I wouldn't be surprised if they're galvanised plastic. How does that work? Or has some PR guru used a word in a different context because it sounds good?

It's "Galveston" Steering wheel gear change paddles. Part of the new "Country and Western spec - Glen Campbell edition"

Perhaps they galvanise the engine into action??

Well, obviously they need to be galvanised. If they were just cast iron they'd rust. It's that sort of quality that sets the Germans apart.

I'm more of a polished aluminium or stainless steel kind of guy! But I have a serious problem because I keep looking up used C63's.

M-B do specialise in odd spec levels.... when I was looking at the A and B Class for my parents last year, they still wanted to charge extra for DAB radio

It's not just M-B. My 320 has electric adjustment for the side bolsters on the driver's seat but no lumbar adjustment at all (not even manual).
My old 530d had 'comfort' seats that were electrically multi-adjustable but they weren't heated.
