Harry has sadly become like the son who won't do as his father (or rather important grandmother) wishes and yet expects him and her (and of course us) to still cough up his allowance every month. I think that Meghan really thought that she was going to become some sort of super A+++ lister, the ultimate celebrity, able to rub shoulders with the likes of George Clooney or Elton John, oh what bliss. But she rather forgot that the Royal Family is not like being an A-lister. There is duty and sacrifice involved as well - and she seems utterly unable to deal with that. This doing the rounds today......

I misread this as "Royal Horror Shock" momentarily...
...but then realised it wasn't about Camilla...

ITV News have reporters scouring British Columbia trying to catch a glimpse of Duchess Difficult. Ridiculous.

ITV News have reporters scouring British Columbia trying to catch a glimpse of Duchess Difficult. Ridiculous. It's not unsurprising that she might want to escape from such extreme invasion of personal space and privacy.

This upcoming court case where the Mail on Sunday are putting the argument that a personal letter shouldn't be personal as it is in the public interest to know. Disgusting IMO.

This upcoming court case where the Mail on Sunday are putting the argument that a personal letter shouldn't be personal as it is in the public interest to know. Disgusting IMO. Agree entirely. That's a bullshit argument from a bullshit newspaper. There is a clear and substantial difference between " the public interest" - which covers things that affect the welfare or well-being of the public - and " things the public find interesting" - which sadly for lots of people with nothing better to think about undoubtedly includes reading the private correspondence of a public figure.

Apparently Hewitt is at the Palace doing some rugby thing today. Not stepped back very far from royal duties then.

I think the current argument is centered on them not cashing-in on being royals (as a fee-enhancer) in commercial deals whilst saying that they don't want to be royals. Like if I resigned from my professional organisation yet still used the letters after my name to gain work.
The Royal Household is insisting that it has a review of their commercial deals before they can enter into them to make sure that this is not happening.

Well it's all out there now. The Queen seems to have said that "yes, what you want is all very interesting, but you are either in or you are out. Which is it to be?". And the answer is out, it would appear. I expect Megham will be as happy as anything. From D list actress to A list mega-celebrity with a cool title to boot. I actually now feel sorry for Harry. I think what will hit him hardest is the loss of all his military links. He never seemed happier than when he was in the army and later meeting service people and veterans. Now he's just a veteran himself. His life would now seem to simply involve following his wife round as she milks her stardom. A bit like the Obamas - she's a bigger star than him now.

I feel sorry for Harry too. I think he has been forced into this because Meghan had had enough: he either had to follow her or say goodbye. I hope they both make a good life for themselves.

I wish I had a B&B on Vancouver Island, it'd be booked out for years by resident paparazzi. I reckon they'll find less privacy there than on one of the Royal estates.

I think I am right in saying the general population have better protection than the regals when it comes to harrassment. Probably what they were aiming for.

I feel sorry for Harry too. I think he has been forced into this because Meghan had had enough: I think Meghan had had enough of being told what she could and couldn't do and was thus unable to milk her newfound A list celebrity status for cash and wasn't quite living the fairytale princess role unencumbered by people with cameras. That problem has now been resolved (for her) but I reckon he will end up drinking/womanising, etc and eventually not married to her.

I also suspect that Willy is proper pissed off about the whole episode and that Harry Hewitt will come to regret everything coz he'll start to miss his sibling.
