Only the Brexit Party have bothered. They’re going to smash it. That's a truly depressing thought, we'll end up with the Tories going even further right and Labour heading further left which, to my mind, has significantly contributed to recent politics being even more crap than usual. Meanwhile the majority of us left in the middle have nowhere to turn to while the idiots running the country answer to a smaller and smaller group of big mouthed tools.

To the best of my knowledge, nothing at all as yet. Herself tends to bin such things before I get home, so we might have had and I wouldn't know!

So far only Corbyn and UKIP, both of which I ritually ripped to tiny shreds with all the zeal of a demented hamster.
Voting for Farage is an offence worthy of boiling. It just is. He simply lies blatantly time after time after time. He tells people black is white and white is black, and they somehow lap it up. Yet no one has the right to be that wilfully dismissive of reality, whether Farage or those who vote for him.
Voting is a privilege and votes should be wielded responsibly. A vote for Farage is grossly irresponsible.

It can't come as any surprise that people will vote for him in their millions because they thought voting was a privileged that counted for something. You don't have to agree with his position to see his appeal. And for the avoidance of doubt I won't be voting for him.

Remember, a few short months after Farage told Barack Obama to keep his nose out of the EU referendum he had his nose right up Trump's arse. Sadly nobody appears to publicly question that kind of hypocrisy to show to the easily led masses.

It can't come as any surprise that people will vote for him in their millions because they thought voting was a privileged that counted for something. It is, but it is a privilege that should be wielded responsibly given the ramifications it has. In my view we the electorate all have a duty to properly inform ourselves about things we don't initially understand. Anything else is laziness and simply bad citizenship, and voting on gut instincts or ill-informed prejudice tends to end badly overall.
As someone once said, "education, education, education". We get education pretty wrong in this country most of the time in my view.
Most people are not, in my view, actually conscious bigots and would be horrified to be described as such. But there's no getting around the prevalence of that most pernicious of provincial mind-sets that allows people to opine that of course the individual foreigners they know are good people who contribute more than they take, whilst still thinking that there are too many foreigners coming over and stealing jobs/getting freebies on the NHS/ cheating benefits. That's what Farage taps into. And because he tells people what they want to hear or think is true anyway, they don't notice the lies. It's bias confirmation on an appalling scale.
And before you object to my use of the word "provincial", remember that I grew up in rural coastal East Anglia and have first hand experience of the fact that views out in the provinces and views in the UK's more international urban centres are distinctly different.

To assume the vote was simply because everyone is racist is perhaps why we are in this mess. Until you’re prepared to understand why people voted to leave, why they view the EU as part of the problem or even why they might not view the immigration policy in the same way you do, then you can only expect people to keep voting in a different way to you.

I have a postal vote and have already cast it. I think for the first time ever my wife has voted for a different party than me on the basis that we have slightly different views on what should happen with Brexit - these elections are basically a 2nd referendum on the EU in my mind - you either vote for a remain or a leave party depending on your views.

With the massive selection of worthless no-goods talking themselves up and the opposition down. Not even if they were voting to be head chimp in the banana factory would I vote for any of them.

If Brexit was such a good idea and had valid intellectual foundations, we’d have identified this by now. The fact that we haven’t is nothing if not telling.

Anyway, tonight brought leaflets from the LibDems and Change UK. Nothing from Tories or Greens or Farage yet.

I'm out of the country, far away and will miss all this. No doubt I will return to a collection of leaflets although for the recent local elections there were none (and only 2 parties to vote for)

Who says I don’t understand? Perhaps I understand only too well but people are not prepared to recognise their real motives. That's a rather lofty statement to make. How many leavers have you spoken with to come to the conclusion you know their motives better than they do? I still don't think condemning those who hold a different opinion to you is the way to win the battle for hearts and minds.

I think a few have gone straight in the recycling but last night I saw a leaflet from the Scottish Tories and another from UKIP.
I do remember Mrs Tim being annoyed that she'd received a personally addressed leaflet from some Brexit party and that I hadn't.

This happened here too, Louisa got an addressed leaflet from Brexit and I didn't. I'm not sure if it's in anyway targetted or simply that they send one article per household from the electoral roll and that is decided on an alphabetical system - it would explain ours. Anyway, it didn't go in the recycling bin, instead it went in the fire-lighting pile as, unlike the Greens leaflet, it's not a glossy affair so can be burnt.

Alright then, I wasn't going to bother voting as I really haven't got the energy in the current state we find ourselves.
So if someone can tell me who my cross should go against as a remainer with Tory values that would be useful.

as a remainer with Tory values that would be useful. The Conservatives.
The reason being this, by letting that party collapse we create a vacuum that allows fringe parties who do not share our values to flourish. As a remainer you may say that the Conservatives are trying to implement the result of the referendum which you may not agree with. The issue here is that every main party says they will do the same in one way or another. The only chance to reverse the referendum is to implement it in the first place because unless that happens, any second vote is doomed.

I'm going to disagree. I voted leave and would happily call someone a cunt if they kept on insisting that I did so because I was a racist/bigot/xenophobe.
