My only fear with Boris is that regardless of his own view he might end up, in his quest for his own glory, pandering too much to the far right and hard Brexiteers in order to shore up support (on which front, let's face it, he has form). His Churchill complex will make him want to be the saviour of the nation and I'm not quite sure which way that would take us.

I dislike Boris intensely for his flagrant pursuit of his own self-interest and ambition. And in normal circumstances, I wouldn't let him anywhere near the keys of a shed, let alone 10 Downing Street. But, and it is a big but, I don't think he has a shred of ideological affinity for Brexit or the far right. And that to my mind makes him infinitely preferable to the ideologues like Raab and Leadsom. I also think he's the only one who possibly has the ability to neutralise Farage. And, whilst it is an extremely low bar, he is more Prime Ministerial than Gove, who just has too much of the Gollum about him. I agree with all of that and also add that he has more charisma than the rest and is more likely to win over floating voters from Corbyn. A case of hold your nose and vote for Boris. I feel the same way, he’s best of a bad bunch and it could be entertaining!

If he does become PM he will have to give up his bike - and then become Mr Blobby.

I agree with what racing said, plus Boris is the only candidate who can reach across party lines and attract floating voters back to the Conservatives. Frankly, anybody else - except perhaps Savid Javid - is really just Thereasa May in trousers or a different skirt. No charisma, no appeal. If Boris does not get on the final ballot due to an ABB campaign amongst MP's, then the Conservatives deserve all that happens to them and we definitely get a Corbyn government.
Boris has been clever already. He's said today that under him, we leave the EU on 31st October deal or no deal. No deal, if it happens, is therefore going to be totally painted as the EU's fault.

Apparently our next PM is Mr or Ms Race. All the news I see in Singapore on the BBC about our next leader says "Race for next PM"

Could do worse, easily much worse than an invisible PM. Might even get stuff done
