That Wetherstones bloke is a proper lunatic. I watched him get a bit of a savaging from Sally Bundock on the BBC yesterday morning about 5.30. The only unfortunate thing was that she is quite clearly a remainer who has run out of patience. I've never seen her so animated.

Is now a bad time to confess that I’m at Beaconsfield Services about to eat one of his burgers? Given how busy it is in here, I doubt they’d miss my custom if I boycotted them. Isn't about time we either called the whole thing off or Theresa May just walked and told Rees-Mogg and BoJo to bugger off to Brussels and actually tell them what this amazing plan is that they have in their head so the EU can finally explain just how ridiculous and impossible it is? (Not that they’d listen of course, but we can but dream).

The founder and chairman of Wetherspoons shares my brother's name.
When I worked in the water industry, one of the guys in Dundee I occasionally dealt with had the wonderful and slightly more interesting surname of Wotherspoon

Indeed. To be fair I only found out a few years ago at the wedding of one of my first cousin's, when his father-in-law made a joke about his daughter marrying a carney. The link is my maternal grandmother's mother, who was a Hengler.

We were in the Wetherspoons in St Ives a couple of times last week and it was heaving. The in-house magazine is full of pro-Brexit propaganda and where there are articles by guest columnists there is a comment from the great Mr Martin, remainers are scorned somewhat..
