They are probably one of the best cars LR have produced. They are generally very reliable.

A Freelander 2, I’m not surprised she put a stop to that idea! If you act quickly, the Royal Family may have a slightly used Freelander for sale. It has a bit of body damage though......

I've been out and cleared the drive and two tyre tracks down the road so I can drive to work at 5am tomorrow morning. If it rains overnight now I will NOT be happy!

If you look past my drive to the left you can see there is still ice on the road but two hopefully ice free tracks going the other way. And here's a couple from dog walks just so we're not all going on about cars all the time... Not sure if the sheeps are particularly visible in that last one?

Just been out across the fields here. Nearly all of our snow has gone.

^ Same here
EDIT: Snow nearly all gone at home due to the rain but as you get near Basingstoke on the motorway, the amount visible on the fields and embankments etc increases notably. The southern part of the Ringway is still quite bad with abandoned vehicles as per the BBC website from Friday night and the works carpark is still covered, albeit not as deep as when I left to go home on Friday afternoon. It's not raining here at the moment but there is still plenty of the white stuff around

I ended up doing quite a bit of driving on Friday/Saturday on snow/ice, and Sunday morning some quite treacherous ice after the snow partly melted then it went down to minus 7.
The British motorists's enduring faith in the infallibility of the concept of "it should have been gritted" seemed much in evidence... But even major routes like the A34 had sections of sheet ice. Luckily most people didn't notice, and therefore didn't over react!
All good fun, really having to drive the car even at slow speeds... And very little traffic on the roads which is always nice. In Newbury we ended up with around 8 inches of snow, it was a few inches deep when I got there Friday 0900hrs with already nothing but 4x4 and winter tyre equipped cars able to move, then it carried on snowing hard until 5 without stopping. Very localised, but very heavy from there to the other side of Basingstoke I think.

Seems to have gone now. It's still February and I'm out walking the dog in shorts, t shirt and sunglasses. Glorious weather.

Forgot to look when I popped out earlier. Phone app says 16° but that's not a shirt temperature so I reckon it might be a bit warmer than that.

Lovely spring day, clear blue skies and 18.5c here. Nice to have the sunroof open on the way home, but it’s not shorts weather!

...which interestingly enough is warmer than the Canarian and Greek island holidays that the current eBay banner ad is trying to sell...

Records were broken today. Not quite 20.5 but the new record is 20.3, first ever UK winter temperature in the 20s.

Glorious day today. But by goodness it was cold last night - we had a really heavy frost last night and thick mist first thing. And then the sun burst through....

I walked the dog earlier and was cursing myself for not wearing a pair of gloves it was so cold. I got a winter walking coat for my birthday a couple of weeks back and wondered how much use I'd actually get out of it this year. I've worn it nearly every day!

Storm whatever is alive and well here too. I woke this morning to find the recycling wheelie bin on its side and had top pick various bits of cardboard packaging up that had blown out onto the road. Plenty of rain throughout the day and it's about 6 degrees colder than yesterday. Roll on the week-end !

Summer tyres back on the car now... Have not given them a workout yet, but I'm hoping for good things as in the autumn, when I put 4 new P Zero's on there, it felt amazingly well tied down, and the winters have been quite slippy recently under power!

I’m putting mine back on this weekend. I’ve been really impressed with both sets of All Season tyres in cold, warm, wet and dry conditions, not properly tested in snow but I’m sure they would have been fine. Perfect for winters like the one we’ve just had.

Perfect for winters like the one we’ve just had. I will leave mine a shade longer but only really because, being all-season, the grip doesn't go off a cliff like winters do. Definitely the right choice for our variable climate and I have been extremely impressed with the Crossclimate+ I will probably find time in another couple of weeks to get the Potenzas back on.

Will leave the Crossclimates on the Golf for a while longer as they’re hardly worn and like you, I’ve been impressed with them. The Pirelli’s in the BMW might just last 3 winters if I take them off now and use them for a similar length of time over the next 2 winters and swap them front to back one year which will save some £.

Winter is definitely over now. Cleaned both cars and did a proper job of the BMW summer wheels...decontamination, clay, wheel wax and tyre dressing. They look great and I’m very happy to get them back on the car, which looks even better with bigger wheels. The before picture Need to do the same job on the Golf, but that can wait a week or two.

I haven't bothered with winter tyres again this year - the price for a staggered set for the 320 was fairly hefty and if the weather gets too bad I can work from home for a few days.
