The visiting cat finally went out, a good dusting of snow and continuing to fall slowly. No drama but minor roads will no doubt be difficult again but planned ahead and no need to go anywhere.

If it gets any colder up here we might need to think about putting coats on.

The visiting cat finally went out... Who set it on fire in the first place?? It started snowing again mid-morning in Basingstoke, an still is. I'm still the only one to have ventured into the rear carpark (works van usually lives there) and one delivery truck has been through. Apart from the security guard, I'm the only one left downstairs...

2 to 3 inches overnight in Cheltenham and then it started snowing again from about 0730 until just after midday. It's now stopped, and melting. I'm working from home!

Looks like Basingstoke is the center of the local issues as well Chris, see TomTom traffic data...

Google's traffic shit as ever.
Spotter alert - what Telematics / camera is that?

Typical
As soon as I get something with AWD and standard mud & snow tyres - there isn't a drop of snow in Warwick.

Google's traffic shit as ever. Safely home - left around 2:30pm as the snow started to settle on the car, I spent a few minutes clearing the roof, windows, bonnet but it was re-settling almost as fast as I could clear it ! Google traffic on the PC before I shut it down suggested no problems and free-flowing roads all the way home. As soon as I started the car and turned on the TomTom, it showed a somewhat different picture of the local roads ! Mind you, sometimes the TomTom has been wrong. One interesting stretch on the M3, as you cross the railway line bridge (Farnborough to Basingstoke) the car seemed to slide sideways a little... I suspect that there was a sheet of ice on the bridge section despite all 3 lanes being usable at that point. Much less snow on the ground when I got home that at work, but it's been settling since I got back. I wonder if I will get the chance to wash the car this week-end ??

Snowing quite heavily here now. The car was excellent in such conditions especially in snow mode (what was that guy called?). The throttle is recalibrated to smooth out acceleration and reduce the risk of spinning wheels. Traction is predictably very good. The graphic to show you which way the wheels are pointing is also a good idea but I didn’t get into a situation where it was required. Really quite enjoyed driving home from my parents earlier using the gear paddles to slow the car barely needing the brakes. The parking heater, heated steering wheel and seats have all been proving their worth this last few days. Love this car.

Still snowing here, there's now quite a thick covering outside, and Basingstoke has made the BBC News again for the snow-related traffic congestion

I think there was a few of us with IS250s and the brilliant "Snow" mode. Didn't need winter tyres and never got stuck once.

Not had a huge amount here. It came down quickly yesterday morning while Lindsey was on her way to Consett. The MX-5 spun out and ended up broadside in the road and refused to move at all. Luckily the gritter came along and spread some salt to get her moving. It is currently abandoned in the pub car park along with a few other RWD cars. I’ll retrive it later.

Chilly, but bugger all snow in West Lancs, other than the 2cm on Wednesday which brought Ormskirk to a halt. The town's built on a bit of a hill and the number of drivers incapable of navigating said hill in the snow & ice was unbelievable. FWD hatches sat their polishing the ice, when I'm driving past in a turbo diesel, rwd automatic with stupidly wide tyres on the back. It's not bloody rocket science.

MX-5 is back home. Had to tow it off the icy grass on the pub car park but it managed to get up the quite steep shared drive with a little momentum. Once I had cleared a bit of the snow off our own drive it went up without an issue.
Half the problem is people driving too slowly - no momentum and too slow to churn the snow and grit together to melt it.

Yuk. Lager flavoured fizzy water more like... It’s not great, but takes me back to holidays in my youth and not had one for years. Moved onto Champagne now, but you probably don’t like that either!

I like pink champers, particularly Laurent Perrier, but it's ridiculously expensive for fizzy wine.

A Freelander 2, I’m not surprised she put a stop to that idea!
