He needs no sympathy. Transit Customs are great and in the company car tax arena it is a no brainier cost wise. Space for children and stuff, and bikes can go inside. . Too right. I’m also spec mine with led lights in the cargo area plus felt lining. Internal roof rack sounds useful too. The heated seats are a nod to the wife.

surely not as an everyday vehiclen? You’ll be surprised. Yes, it’s a bit wider than my people carrier but has twin sliding doors, more room for the kids and easier access. Turning circle better too. The cargo area is the icing on the cake for bikes and shit. I had a T5 with no air con or parking sensors as a daily for 12 months living in Brum with a 100 mile daily commute no probs so this will be gravy.

Pleased to see that ‘Scamper Spec’ is alive and well, must be a few more useful lifestyle accessories you could add as well?!

Because he's easy come, easy go? Will he get an awning? That way, any way the wind blows doesn't really matter.

I am sure that Transit Custom Crew cab whatevers are great for a purpose. But I can't help thinking that a Transit Custom Crew Cab as your daily driver is the best reason to stop at two children.....

Through a contact managed to get hold of another Toyota dealer, who are offering a nice 32% off a Proace. Identical price to the Transit but on contract hire still £26 a month more expensive. I presume the 32% off is applied to contract hire as well as the finance purchase. Significantly better theoretical fuel economy and 5yr warranty goes a bit to make up for this but I get a sneaky impression having seen the almost identical Citroen van, its slightly down market on the Ford in van land.

In van land isn't ot something like VW T5/T6, Transits, Vivaro, then everything else as some kind of hierarchy?
